  • A Debate Held September 19, 2008

Secular humanist Eddie Tabash once again challenges Douglas Wilson in this spirited debate on the existence of the Christian God. Focusing on the problem of evil, Tabash begins with this perennial conundrum, using it as proof that God can't possibly exist.

Wilson deftly answers Tabash's claims, pointing out that atheism takes away with one hand what it grasps at with the other. Please Note: We no longer sell the original debate (held in 2002) due to the poor quality of the audio recording.Edward (Eddie) Tabash is an American lawyer and political and social activist.

An atheist and a proponent of the Establishment Clause, Tabash has debated several Christian apologists, including Richard Swinburne, William Lane Craig, and Greg Bahnsen. Tabash is also the chair of the national legal committee of Americans United for Separation of Church and State, and chair of the First Amendment Task Force for the Council of Secular Humanism.

Douglas Wilson is the pastor of Christ Church (Moscow, Idaho) and Senior Fellow of Theology at New Saint Andrews College. He is the author of Letter from a Christian Citizen , a major national response to the recent best-seller by militant atheist Sam Harris. Wilson has also played a prominent role as one of the foremost defenders of the Christian faith by going head-to-head with noted atheist Christopher Hitchens in Is Christianity Good for the World? , a debate originally hosted online by Christianity Today.
